With over 20 years of construction experience, Eric Hetletvedt decided to start a new specialized business. He established Techno Metal Post Central Minnesota in 2012.
During my career as a General Contractor in the construction industry, I had deep foundation projects that required helical piles once or twice a year. I noticed only a few companies provided this service and that they specialized in large commercial jobs. Scheduling them for my small residential jobs was difficult. They also used very large equipment which was not designed for helical pile installation. I thought there had to be an easier way.
After visiting Techno Metal Post headquarters, there was no question in my mind: I wanted to do business with this manufacturer. Techno Metal Post designs, engineers, and manufactures their own piles and installation equipment, which is specially designed for helical pile installation. Techno Metal Post helical piles are guaranteed not to move or settle due to frost heave and are guaranteed to support small or heavy loads. Installation is done with little impact to the surrounding environment. The machine tracks leave little disturbance to property and landscaping.

I typically travel within a range of 60 miles or less. Techno Metal Post products have been evaluated by IAPMO for its compliance with the International Residential Code (IRC) and hold the Evaluation Report #ER-481. Also, for projects submitted to the International Building Code (IBC) Techno Metal Post has been evaluated by ICC-ES and possesses the Evaluation Report #ESR-3418.

A solarium needs a foundation [...] having a concrete slab on grade with posts driven through the slab to lock it in place, so it won’t shift or move over time. But the kind of posts your contractor uses will make all the difference. We used Techno Metal Post’s helical pier — three at the back of the solarium (the part that’s away from the house). They’re like giant metal screws, so the frost can’t grab them and pull them up. Only a certified technician can install these posts because specialized hydraulic machinery that measures soil conditions has to be used.
